On the 31st of August, more than 300 students from universities from all over the UK met in Singapore for the annual Warwick Summer Games (WSG) tournament. An annual tradition, the WSG has been held four years in a row since 2009.
This year, Singsoc competed in a number of sports, namely Football, Touch Rugby, Netball, Basketball, Monopoly Deal and Scrabble.
Our teams put up a strong fight and for the first time ever, we took home the gold for monopoly deal! We also scored 3rd place for monodeal and our combined Touch Rugby team also won 3rd place. Also, not forgetting Netball and Football who came in 10th!
Needless to say, we won best photo for WSG for the second year running!
We’d just like to thank all those who participated, helped out, or just came down to cheer us on at the WSG ❤
Chocolate, bunnies and hidden eggs. These are just a few of the things that probably spring to mind when you think of Easter. For our Easter Dinner this year, we decided to combine all of these elements, and more!
20 hungry Singaporeans (a deadly combination) made their way to Crosspool Tavern on the 4th of April for the most awesome -all-you-can-eat English traditional roast buffet. Hand carved roast beef, gamon, crispy yorkshire puds and cauliflower cheese were just some of the many things that filled our tummies that night.
And of course, what’s easter without the chocolate eggs?? We placed chocolate eggs of different shapes and sizes into a glass jar and had everyone guess the number of eggs in the jar. The winner would walk away with the chocolate eggs and a free meal!
We hope that everyone who attended had a great time at the event and left with full bellies and a wide smile. And again, thanks for making the 13/14 committee’s first event a great success!
